The last decades has seen the waterproofing community turn to new technologies based on high technology Liquid membranes.

 

This new school of thought has abandoned the idea that only multi-layer systems guarantee water-tightness.

 

Liquid-applied systems offer decisive advantages particularly where seamless systems are desired; either structurally or aesthetically, and for geometrically complicated connections with ventilation outlets or upturns.

 

Critical to success, is the correct material selection from the various alternatives on the market.

 

Alchimica has been providing solutions to waterproofing problems for over 30 years with its extensive range of polyurethane liquid membranes which are the most versatile and long term performing of the liquid applied membrane waterproofing category of products.

Hyperdesmo

One component polyurethane fluid which cures with the humidity in the atmosphere. It produces a highly elastic membrane with strong adhesion to many types of surfaces. It contains a small percentage of xylol, and may be thinned with SOLVENT-01 if necessary.It is based on pure elastomeric hydrophobic polyurethane resin plus special inorganic fillers, which result in excellent mechanical, chemical, thermal, UV and natural element resistance properties.

Elongation- 600%.

Liquid for universal applying. Protection of: tiles, gypsum and cement boards, polyurethane insulation foams,  bathrooms, verandas and balconies, roofs, light roofing made of metal or fibrous cement, asphalt membranes, EPDM membranes, tanks, car parks and stadium stands, bridge platforms, irrigation channels etc.

Hyperdesmo F

It is part of the HYPERDESMO® System, however, this particular variant is, optionally, water-thinable. It produces a strong elastic film with excellent adhesion to different surfaces. It contains a small percentage of SOLVENT-01. The addition of water into the product produces a thixotropic emulsion which cures quickly.

Elongation-400%. Excellent UV-resistance.

Liquid for universal applying. Protection of: tiles, gypsum and cement boards, polyurethane insulation foams,  bathrooms, verandas and balconies, roofs, light roofing made of metal or fibrous cement, asphalt membranes, EPDM membranes, tanks, foundations and basements etc. Effective when applied  on vertical surfaces.

Hyperdesmo 2K-W

Two-component, solvent-free, thixotropic coating, based on high quality elastomeric polyurethane resins. After polymerization it produces a strong, elastic, hydrophobic membrane suitable for waterproofing and protection. It is recommended for waterproofing of water tanks. It has been certified for use in potable water tanks 

Elongation- 100%.

Waterproofing and protection of:

water tanks made of concrete, steel or other  material,  prefabricated concrete tanks, drinking water tanks, tanks with wall movement due to expansion and

contraction.

Hyperdesmo PB-2K

 Fast-curing, two-component, bitumen-extended polyurethane fluid. It produces a highly elastic membrane with strong adhesion to many types of surfaces and excellent mechanical and chemical resistance properties.

It is based on pure elastomeric hydrophobic polyurethane resin and is extended with chemically polymerized virgin bitumen.

Elongation-1000%.

Waterproofing coating for protection of:  Gypsum and cement boards, polyurethane insulation foams, asphalt membranes, EPDM membranes, bathrooms (under tiles), verandas and balconies (under tiles), flower pots and roof-top gardens, roofs, light roofing made of metal or fibrous cement, non-potable water tanks, basements, foundations, bridge platforms, "cut-and-cover” tunnels, irrigation channels. Especially effective for the repair of roofs of old coating of bituminous materials. Also used as a vapor barrier.

Hyperdesmo PB-1K

Quick-curing, one component, thixotropic, bitumen-extended polyurethane fluid. It produces a hydrophobic, elastic membrane with very strong adhesion to most types of substrates, as well as bituminous, and excellent mechanical and chemical resistance properties.

It is ideal for application on vertical surfaces: No running, no bubbling. Elongation-600%

Waterproofing coating for protection of: Gypsum and cement boards, asphalt membranes (for repair also), cementitious substrates, roofs, light roofing made of metal or fibrous cement,  basements, foundations, closed spaces with high humidity. Also used as a vapor barrier.

Two component flooring resin, self leveling, solvent-less, slightly elastic, polyurethane based.

Where to use: Industrial flooring Ship decks, Tanks ,Food, chemical, pharmaceutical industry, Shopping centers, hotels, restaurants, Parking areas, On asphalt floors and in refrigeration cells.

Hyperdesmo D

One component polyurethane fluid which cures with the humidity in the atmosphere. It produces a very strong membrane with outstanding adhesion to many types of surfaces and excellent chemical and hydrolysis resistance properties.

Ideal for protecting metal structures against corrosion. Suitable for chemicals and effluent treatment tanks and sewage tubes. It is highly resistant to gases produced during waste water treatment, e.g. methane, hydrogen sulphide etc..

For waterproofing and protection of: Metal structures, concrete, industrial floors, car parks, refrigeration units, tanks for chemicals, waste water treatment tanks, pipes (inside).

Warning: When exposed to sunlight, directly or indirectly, HYPERDESMO®-D has the tendency to discolour (yellowing). To preserve colours, a top-coat of HYPERDESMO®-ADY-E (always pigmented) is required.

Hyperdesmo ADY

One-component polyurethane fluid which cures with the humidity in the atmosphere to produce a transparent membrane with uniform adhesion over the entire surface. It is aliphatic: No yellowing as a result of direct exposure to sunlight.

It is based on pure elastomeric hydrophobic polyurethane resin, which results in excellent mechanical, chemical, thermal, UV and natural element resistance properties.

For waterproofing and protection in the following cases: Industrial floors, building materials like stone, marble, bricks and wood, metals like iron, steel and aluminium, door and window casings, wooden floors, furniture.

Hyperdesmo ADY-E

One-component polyurethane fluid which cures with the humidity in the atmosphere to produce a transparent membrane, of increased elasticity, with uniform adhesion over the entire surface. It is aliphatic: No yellowing as a result of direct exposure to sunlight. It is ideal for colour protection of HYPERDESMO®products.

It is based on pure elastomeric hydrophobic polyurethane resin, which results in excellent mechanical, chemical, thermal, UV and natural element resistance properties. Elongation-500%

Recommended for : Top-coating (pigmented) HYPERDESMO® and HYPERDESMO®-LV, top-coating flooring applications (pigmented),protecting concrete or synthetic coats.

Hyperdesmo T

One component high solids, polyurethane fluid, which cures with the humidity in the atmosphere. It produces an elastic, highly durable, highly hydrophobic membrane with excellent UV resistance. Being aliphatic, it does not yellow/discolour when exposed to sunlight.

It is based on pure elastomeric, hydrophobic, aliphatic polyurethane resin, which results in excellent mechanical, chemical, thermal, UV and natural element resistance properties.

Warning: Although HYPERDESMO®-T looks coloured, especially when it is in large containers, it is stressed that the end result is, indeed, transparent.

For waterproofing and protection of: Tiles, natural stone, wood, verandas and balconies,terraces.

PU Finish-Matte

One-component, low viscosity polyurethane fluid which cures with the humidity in the atmosphere to produce a transparent membrane with very strong adhesion on most types of substrate. It is aliphatic: No yellowing as a result of direct exposure to sunlight. It is based on pure elastomeric hydrophobic polyurethane resin, which results in excellent mechanical, chemical, thermal, UV and natural element resistance properties.

Recommended for: Provides very good impregnation of stone, porous marble & mosaics.  Provides satin finish to HYPERDESMO®-T and other aliphatic top-coats.

PRIMERS

Aquadur

QUADUR is a two-component, water based, epoxy coating. It has a track record of more than 20 years of successful use as primer for the HYPERDESMO® line of products, as well as other Alchimica polyurethane based products.

It is certified as "Class III” water and humidity barrier, which makes it ideal for applications subject to negative pressure / rising humidity.

An easy to use and safe (zero VOC) product with many applications besides priming.

Use as: Primer in applications with rising humidity / negative pressure (tanks, pools, foundations etc.), primer for other systems, e.g. epoxy or polyurethane based, cementitious, sealing coat for concrete, adhesive layer between old and new concrete, water / humidity barrier.

Microsealer PU

One component, 100% solids, polyurethane based primer suitable for all substrates.
It is characterised by its very low viscosity and balanced curing speed which result in excellent wetting, impregnation and paint-over time on all substrates, whether of high, low or no porosity (e.g. glass and metals). Additionally, it can be effectively used on both dry and wet concrete, even green concrete, not only as primer but also as a low-cost sealing solution, increasing, thus, the durability of the substrate.

To be used as primer for: Humid, damp or wet concrete, ceramic tiles, other non-porous substrates like glass, marble & metals. Also, for use as concrete sealer.

The cured film displays outstanding mechanical properties: Its elongation is 400%, i.e. it matches perfectly that of the HYPERDESMO® System, and its tensile strength surpasses 20 N/mm2.

Primer PU

Polyurethane, one component primer.

Used for improving adhesion on porous substrates like beton, wood, plaster etc.

Primer T

One component, colorless, non-staining primer especially designed to secure the adhesion of PRIMER-T on non-porous substrates. Although designed for HYPERDESMO®-T, it is fully suited for all products in the HYPERDESMO® product range.

Recommended for priming of non-porous substrates: Glassy tiles, glass, slightly porous marble.

PRIMER-T is easily applied by wetting a clean cloth and essentially cleaning the surface to be protected with HYPERDESMO®-T. PRIMER-T dries quickly, within 10-15 max. the surface is ready for application.

Universal Primer 2K

 Two-component, solvent-less primer, for use with the HYPERDESMO®System and other polyurethane based products within the ALCHIMICATMline-up.

It is fast-curing and non-toxic (has zero V.O.C.). Specially formulated for ensuring strong adhesion on humid or damp concrete.

To be used as primer for: General use, metals (also galvanized), aluminium, marble, strengthening interlayer adhesion, application under conditions of insufficient ventilation, asphalt and asphaltic membranes, οther, non-polyurethane based systems, e.g. acrylic paints

 

 

JOINT SEALENTS

 

Joint sealants are used to seal joints and gaps between two or more substrates, and are a critical component for modern building design and construction.

 

The main purpose of sealants is to prevent air, water, and other environmental elements from entering or exiting a structure while permitting limited movement of the substrates.

 

Sealants are often the least thought about and contribute a low percentage to a project's overall cost; however, they can become a serious, or for hidden or concealed joints, an impossible problem to correct.

 

It is therefore crucial to not only properly design the joint, but to use a sealant that will perform in the most optimum way for the longest duration.

 

Proper sealant selection also entails avoiding incompatibility between the sealant and the substrate. 
Improperly chosen sealants can cause staining or etching of the substrate and loss of sealant adhesion.

Hyperseal 25LM

Novel low modulus expansion joint sealant, especially formulated to contain both PU and silylated – PU technology, thus giving rise to a sealant which includes the best of both technologies. HYPERSEAL®-25LM cures by reaction with atmospheric humidity to produce a joint sealant with a 50% joint movement accommodation factor, which has excellent adhesion on substrates traditionally problematic for PU sealants, e.g. glass, aluminum, steel, polycarbonate, etc.. Additionally, the sealant has been modified in order to have extrusion profile identical to hybrid PU or MS technology. The extrusion rate and tooling of the sealant remain the same throughout a very wide range of temperature and humidity conditions. The sealant is easy to apply even in very low temperatures and the storage stability is unlike any polyurethane sealant in the market

Sealing joints in: Insitu concrete, expansion concrete joints, precast panels, brick and block work, water tanks and swimming pools, metal frames, aluminum windows and panels, irrigation channels, glass & mirror applications, granite & marble.

HYPERSEAL®-25LM complies with:

Hyperseal 50FC

HYPERSEAL®-50FC is a fast curing joint sealant, general purpose adhesive that has been specifically formulated to contain both PU and silylated PU technology, thus giving rise to a sealant, which includes the best properties of both technologies.

HYPERSEAL®-50FC cures rapidly through reaction with atmospheric humidity to produce a sealant with excellent early grab adhesion even on substrates traditionally problematic for PU sealants, e.g. aluminum, steel, polycarbonate etc. Additionally, the sealant has been modified in order to have extrusion profile identical to Hybrid PU or MS technology.

Use for sealing joints in: Metal frames, aluminum windows and panels, glass & mirror applications, granite & marble, flooring applications.
